The first round of the AORC has been run and won and one team looking forward to the Tatts Finke Desert Race is the current Australian Champions SMU Racing.
After a second outright at the first round, team driver Matt Hanson is looking forward to letting the SNAP SMU Racing Jimco hit the famous Finke whoops for the first time.
“The team is looking forward to Finke, having not competed there for a few years. We were relatively happy with the first round in WA but found a few little areas on the car that can be improved, which we have been working with Racer Imports on. Additionally, Shane Wilson has designed some new turbos for the SNAP SMU Racing Jimco which look like adding to what is already a very fast reliable package”, said Matt.
“Finke is such a tough event that we will again be looking to bank valuable points. The team is greatly looking forward to Shane the Doctor Cottee and Tammi making their first appearance with the team this year and to our first Finke race with naming rights partner Snap Print Design Websites, GRH Supplies and Jatco Engineering.”
“In particular, with Snap’s fantastic help we will be handing out some heaps of great posters at Finke scrutiny as well as some SNAP SMU Racing Caps for some of the kids. Overall it should be a great event.”
Navigator Leigh ‘Getting It done’ Wells was equally enthusiastic about this years Finke race, “we are really looking forward to this year’s Finke. We haven’t been here for a while and cant wait to hit the whoops for the first time in the SNAP SMU racing Jimco.”
When asked about the navigator’s preparation for this event Leigh was quick to point out that this is the fittest that he has ever been and looking forward to being on the money come show time in the SNAP SMU Racing Jimco! Watch out Alice Springs!
